Top 10 Best Dressed- London Fashion Week

This season the fashion forward celebrities who attended London Fashion Week outdid themselves in the style stakes. But out of all of the people and the parties here is my countdown of top 10 best dressed of the week:

10. Georgia Jagger in Chloe. With that bed head hair and minimal makeup she looks like she has rolled out of bed and into her heels. The ultimate laid back look.

9. Agyness Deyn doing what she does best at the Burberry afer party; tomboy cool. Brouges, mini dress, stockings and a cool jacket top off her casual night time look.
8. Leigh Lazark shimmers in this all black glittery number.
7. The lovely Jourdan Dunn looks gorgeous holding this shocking pink Mulberry clutch. (I had to stop myself from using the words "glowing" and "radiating" which is what people always seem to describe pregnant ladies as...)

6. Kaya Scodelario, who plays the oh so cool Effy in Skins looks oh so cool here in a Comme Des Garcons tee and Mulberry shoes.
5. Super models Natalia Vodianova and Lily Donaldson are the perfect stylish pair. Loving Lily's necklace and Natalia's Stella Mccartney dress.
4. Chanel Iman looks stunning at the Mulberry after party. Love that midnight blue jacket. But then she looks so good she could wear a plastic Tescos carrier bag and make it look fashionable.
3. Kate Moss, Queen of bohemian cool looks amazing at the Topshop unique show. I predict I rise in the sale of trilbys!

2. Alexa Chung, self confessed Luella obsessor looked amazing in this floral spring summer frock at the Vogue LFW dinner. Love her eye makeup, wish I could master that 'cat flick' liquid eyeliner look.

1. But at number one it has to be Emma Watson. She outshone all of the other A-Listers from Victoria Beckham to Liv Tyler at Buberry's closing party for the 25th anniversary of LFW in this dazzling dress.
Seriously is there nothing this girl can't do?
-She plays the one and only Hermione Granger.
-She has got a place at Brown University, one of the best in America and got straight A's on her A-Levels (nearly said OWLS then but stopped the Harry Potter nerd speak coming out just in time)
-She is doing some designing for charity People Tree
-AND on top of all that she always manages to look good.

However this Burberry dress (which is the ultimate party frock: short + sequins = stunning!) paired with some killer heels, tousled hair and smoky eyes is her best fashion choice yet.

Who is your number 1 best dressed from London Fashion Week?

Obama favorites create wardrobe for Chicago 2016 delegation

Chicago 2016 announced that the presentation apparel being worn by the delegation in Copenhagen, Denmark has been designed by three Chicago-based designers, including neckwear designer Lee Allison, venerable clothing brand Hart Schaffner Marx, and renowned designer Maria Pinto. The designers donated their time to work with the bid and have provided the clothing at cost.

It is customary for bid city delegations to wear official apparel to signify teamwork and cohesion.

“On October 2, Chicago will be on an international stage, and our city’s fashion designers will share in the spotlight,” said Patrick G. Ryan, chairman and CEO of Chicago 2016. “Our bid plan celebrates Chicago and we are proud to showcase the talents of the art and design community that thrives here. We appreciate the support of Chicago’s business community and our world-renowned fashion designers.”

The female delegates traveling to Copenhagen will be wearing the designs of Maria Pinto, who has established a name for herself in Chicago and is now well-recognized in the world of fashion. An alumna of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Pinto majored in fine art with a focus in fashion, and later attended both New York’s Parson’s School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Pinto opened the doors to her first boutique in the city’s West Loop neighborhood, drawing celebrity clients like First Lady Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey.

Another Chicago-based style maker, Lee Allison, has been producing his own line of neckties, dress shirts and accessories since 1995. His distinctive silk ties are cut and sewn by hand in a studio located in one of Chicago’s most fashion-forward neighborhoods. Lee Allison creates the signature designs himself, and has been creating ties for Chicago 2016 since the bid’s beginning.

When asked by Chicago 2016 to help create the outfits for the male delegates going to Copenhagen, Chicago 2016 and Allison teamed up with clothier, Hart Schaffner Marx, another hometown favorite since 1872, to fully fashion the men for this significant event.

Bali, the No. 1 department store intimate apparel brand, has introduced its new Natural Uplift bra that features advanced lift for the bust without adding size. The patent-pending lift innovation delivers just the right amount of lift and side support for beautiful shape and comfort, with full coverage to prevent spillover.

The Bali “Natural Uplift” bra, which will be available in department stores in September, helps women Live Beautifully by providing a solid foundation to uplift women from the inside out.

“Natural Uplift has been designed to give full support women a lift, because Bali believes that when you feel beautiful, you are,” said Jennifer Stell, senior marketing manager, Bali. “We also incorporated extra comfort details, like Silky Smooth Lining against the skin, and encased underwire for an added level of comfort.”

"Elegance does not consist in putting on a new dress" -Coco Chanel

My current style inspiration is jewellery inspired dresses.

They are bright, bold and beautifully patterned which means that you will definitely stand out from the crowd in one of these creations...

It all started with McQueen sending his jewel-like designs down the runway last year in his SS09 collection:

But the great designer also has competition from Mary Katrantzou, one of my new favourite designers. She stole the show in February at London Fashion week when she showed her AW09 collection, which was inspired by perfume bottles and glass:

Her latest collection for SS10 previewed last week and continued using flowing silks and the theme of surreal jewellery but with a disco twist and a pinch of added sparkle:

And I also had photos of these little gems saved onto my computer but I have no idea who the designer is (why didn’t I save with the name? why, Beth why?)

So has anyone got any ideas who designed these? Let me know in a comment if you do, it has been buggind me for days that I have forgotten who created these stunning pieces:

James Nolan wins International Lingerie Design Award

On the opening night of the 2009 Milan Fashion Week, fashion design students from 28 countries and regions around the world presented their lingerie showpieces at the grand final of the Triumph Inspiration Award '09 in a fabulous catwalk show in the famous design museum, La Triennale. A celebrity expert judging panel, consisting of two-time Academy Award winning actress Hilary Swank, Editor in Chief of Vogue Italy Franca Sozzani, Hong Kong's international model Qi Qi, legendary fashion photographer Giovanni Gastel, co-founder and creative director of the fashion label Miss Sixty, Wichy Hassan, and Jan Rosenberg, Head of Global Sales and Marketing Triumph International, decided which design piece is the most creative interpretation of this year's award motto "Icons".

James Nolan, 20, Great Britain, convinced the jury with the interpretation of the icon "Odette and Odile" to become the winner of the Triumph Inspiration Award '09 and will pocket not only a cash prize of Euro 15,000 but also a career-boosting limited edition of the winning piece. James Nolan will see the showpiece adapted and interpreted by the Triumph design team, leading to series production of the set, which will be sold in selected Triumph stores worldwide in 2010. The jury awarded the design "Harbour Mirage" by Katinka Poole, 28, Australia, the second prize, receiving Euro 10,000 and Shani Elkin, 24, Israel, with "Jerusalem" won Euro 5,000 as third prize.

At the grand final of the Triumph Inspiration Award '09, all competing finalists were under the scrutiny of the demanding jurors. The jury judged all entries according to the same criteria: innovation and creativity in interpreting the design motto "Icons", individuality, concept, aesthetics, quality in design and execution, as well as presentation. "Success is the result of talent and hard work. I am thrilled to see how both come together in these passionate pieces by young fashion design students - they truly deserve a stage such as the Triumph Inspiration Award", stated two-time Academy Award winning actress Hilary Swank.

Current Style Inspiration

This is definitely the look I will be channelling next spring summer; girly dresses with cute heart prints, pretty frills and lots of lovely flowers. Accessorised with quirky sunnies and topped off with a loose pony tail, I will be good to go...
