Miranda Kerr Shows Off Bikini Bod For Victoria's Secret

Aussie model Miranda Kerr gave onlookers an eyeful as she posed in a skimpy bikini for a Victoria's Secret promo.

The 26-year-old, who is presently dating British actor Orlando Bloom, hit the beach for the lingerie firm's sexy shoot in St Barths, France.

Kerr was said to have been in the equally bare company of her bikini-clad hair and make-up crew during the assignment, reports the Sun. The star was the first Australian addition to the Victoria's Secret campaign. She entered the fashion industry in her early teens after winning a 1997 Australian nationwide model search.

Movie review: London Dreams

Take a bow, the rockstars arrive

In Bollywood, everyone likes to be called a “Rockstar”. I have always wondered what does “Rockstar” mean for Bollywood, but I am still in utter confusion. Sanju Baba is a rockstar because he went to jail so many times, Sallu is a rock star because he drove his car over few poor people sleeping on the street, Fardeen Khan is a rockstar because he was caught with drugs. Basically, any doper, smoker is called a rockstar in Bollywood. This movie takes this obsession to another level by projecting two forty plus men with sagging cheeks and who can’t sing for their lives as rockstars.

Vipul Shah calls this movie a musical Sholay and compares it to Mamma Mia. Any movie with two male leads automatically becomes some kind of Sholay, I guess. And then there is an article about this movie being inspired by the legendary rivalry between Mozart and Salieri. I mean, how full of crap. Read the excuse for a plot and then you will understand what I mean. If you really want to see a good movie based on their rivalry watch Amadeus.

The music of self proclaimed musicals like this one should have been great. But the music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is an average fair and is put down by inane lyrics penned by Prasoon Joshi. Sample this – “Man ko ati bhave saiyyan, kare ta tha thaiya”

Salman Khan with his accent irritates like never before. The character of Mannu essayed by him is one hell of an idiotic portrayal. Ajay Devgn does not suit the role at all. This would go down in history as his second worst performance after RGV ki Aag.

And what is Asin doing in the movie? Which rock band has a female dancer in the background doing stupid dance moves? I guess in a world where Sallu and Ajay Devgn play rockstars anything is possible. The sidey actors are in the movie just as fillers. No one registers any presence.

The movie is one bad experience. The rock concert in London and other European cities looks so phony. Even if London was full of Gujjus and Pakistanis, their number would not be sufficient to fill up the Wembley stadium.

Verdict: Sometimes a movie is so bad that it is good. This movie is not that bad.

Disclaimer: I have not seen the movie.

Fashion designers

http://eicolab.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/fashiondesigner2.jpg
Fashion designers work to a fantasy of what the human body looks like. They are taught how to draw human figures in a distorted, idealised way.
The two figures in the middle are typical of fashion design drawings. Designs are based on these oddly proportioned, fantasy, body shapes.

The figures on either side were statistical averages from a series of anthropometrics studies done with US military personnel. Whilst limited to a select age range and profession, these nonetheless are based on measurable and observable reality. These are real body shapes. I always attach a sketch or photo AND fabric swatches to each worksheet. It makes the process so much easier. This worksheet gets utilized for both custom orders and assembly-line sewing.

Once I start “real” production (manufacturing) for the wholesale market this coming year, this worksheet will change as there will be things which will have to be done differently.

I am a haute couture designer and European stylist, I was taught by a designer at the age of 15 in a clothing manufacture in Montreal for a couple years, right now I am trying to sell these designs for the film and television industry or to designs for a well known company that required a fashion designer.

I know they are eye catching and very unique for people to admire their charming style, I have worked many years in creating fashion designs and because I am a versatile artist my imagination of creativity is extreme so I can concentrate on creating unique designs for different purposes, like for woman in different circles, youths, men chic suits and sports, for the Oscar gala, signers, actresses, etc.

A "well-kept secret" for SIUC is most definitely a secret no more, thanks to a quartet of talented young fashion design and merchandising students, said Laura K. Kidd, fashion design associate professor. After a recent major competition and show, fashion aficionados from the Midwest and beyond know that SIUC boasts a fashion design program and a very successful one at that.

Paula Wallace accepts honor at FGI's Night of Stars Gala

Savannah College of Art and Design President Paula Wallace was presented with the Fashion Group International 2009 Sustainability Award on behalf of the university at FGI's star-studded 26th Annual Night of Stars Gala Thursday, Oct. 22, in New York City.

The Sustainability Award is in recognition of SCAD's position as a leader in sustainable practices, urban renewal and the adaptive reuse of historic properties. Vogue Editor-at-Large Andre Leon Talley, recipient of and namesake to SCAD's annual Andre Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award, presented the Sustainability Award to Wallace.

In his introduction, Talley praised Wallace for leading the conservancy of more than 100 historic buildings around the world, turning "this incredible university called SCAD a wonderland of recycled buildings."

In accepting the award for the university, Wallace thanked FGI for recognizing SCAD's commitment to sustainability. "We at SCAD believe there's really no difference between sustainable design and good design. It's the same thing. It's smart. It's compassionate. It's relevant. It's exalting. And it starts with young artists and designers like those at SCAD who are learning that responsible design isn't only about renewable materials. It's about renewing ourselves."

Wallace was escorted down the red carpet by Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum ("The Phantom of the Opera"). Rossum will be honored at the Savannah Film Festival, which is sponsored by SCAD, Nov. 2 with the Young Hollywood Award prior to the screening of her film, "Dare." Joining Wallace and Rossum at the FGI table were Talley, fashion designer Angel Sanchez and interior designer Miles Redd, among others.

My Little Pony

Despite what The Cut said: "Nylon thinks women want to look like My Little Pony. Alas, they are mistaken!" I have to say I love this photo shoot!
I would love to have nostalgic pastel coloured hair extensions. Maybe just for Halloween but still, they look pretty amazing.

Neeta Lulla & Nishka Lulla Runway Report At Lakme Fashion Week

When the best jewellery collections in India come together with top names in the fashion world the result is a show of stunning creations and glitter.

Gitanjali Lifestyle opened the Spring/Summer 2010 Lakme Fashion Week with a fantastic collection of jewellery and style by the mother and daughter team of Neeta and Nishka Lulla.
Nishka Lulla teamed up with Le Novel, Rosato and Bliss brands and presented one of the most youthful trendy lines on the opening day of Lakme Fashion Week.

It was a pretty as a picture collection that opened the show with adorable little moppets dressed as fairies twirling down the catwalk. With an inspiration which was pixies, it was a romantic line of softly draped, tiered, layered minis in net, chiffon and lace edged with gorgeous embroidery.

Tiny collars, ruffled boleros over will-power dresses in shades of baby pink and white glittered with tonal sequins. Discreet glittering pendants, chains and earrings were the perfect ornaments from Gitanjali.

Niskha’s show stopper was the gorgeous Dia Mirza who glided down the ramp in a tulle layered bustier mini gleaming with sequins.

The Stefan Hafner, Giantti, Nakshatra Eternity and Parineeta Jewellery labels came together to inspire Neeta Lulla’s glamorous fusion line of international and ethnic ensembles.

From East to West the collection wove a beautiful story around the exquisite jewellery. It was a blend of couture and trousseau wear featured in combinations that could be mixed and matched.
