Abdul Kalam brings out his musical vision for India

 Mumbai: When the most loved ex-prez of India speaks, people hang on to his words, no matter what the topic. But when he takes up music as his subject, it is bound to make all sway with joy. Musicians and music lovers from different genres gathered to hear Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s words of wisdom at an event organised by a cultural body.


The centrepoint of the evening was the future of the Indian music industry. The former President spoke about a vision for India, stating how technology could be used to help music reach people across the country.

He also mentioned the healing power of music, and cited a real-life example that had a big impact on his life. What better medium that music to curb negativity and violence and enhance harmony, Kalam asked. Pandit Jasraj and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia also spoke about how music has the power to ignite young minds.
